Great day yesterday at the Gardens by the Bay just a quick taxi ride from my hotel. You are lulled into a false sense of security in the hotels because once you step outside you realise how stinking hot it is!!!
I decided that I would visit a few of the attraction in the gardens. I started in the Flower Dome which is the largest greenhouse in the world. There are different sets of gardens that house rare plants from the Mediterranean and semi-arid subtropical regions. They had a major display of tulips - trying to keep up with the Netherlands! It was an amazing display - who knew there were so many different types.
It was very peaceful, calm and cool in there! The were interesting items made from wood too.
I liked this one as it showed travelers leaving Singapore but leaving a little part off themselves behind!
This walkway was rather high and I was doing fine until a rather large guy mentioned that he could feel the walkway moving that elevated my heart rate but I carried on!
There were so many different cloud forest plants, lots of of orchids.
From the cloud forest I ventured out in the heat to the very tall Marina Bay hotel.
I was determined to get to the top! Unless you are staying in the hotel you can only reach the top from tower 1. The other towers have access to the pool - It is closely guarded by security!
I did manage to be controlled in the lift as it swayed to the 57th floor! The view was spectacular!
I ventured back to the gardens and completed my final height challenge of the day.
Back to the hotel for a long cold shower! I have a large room with a couple of balconies!
Dinner last night was at a local restaurant
Today I headed out for a waok around the local area.
Katong is the area I am in and ' far from the madding crowd' with lots of little restaurants, shops and bars.
Now just waiting to go to airport!
