Although glad to arrive in Vienna not everything went to plan! I arrived at my hotel about 7pm and was told that they had overbooked and the room I had booked wasn't available! They would put me in a single room and give me 20% off and I could have my original room the next day!What could I do?
I usually opt for a double room when I travel as singles are often like cupboards! This was close to being one of the less salubrious one's! Having slept, not fitfully - I think the bed was on a slant and I felt I was going to roll off - I decided to discuss my terms for the inconvenience! I explained my situation - very calmly for all those who think I'm a 'hot head'!
1. I had booked months before so they knew I was arriving, 2. They had taken payment a few days before I arrived, 3. I would expect a 25% reduction in price.
I was asked to leave it with them and I headed out for the day. Unfortunately mother nature wasn't on my side - the rain was torrential, my umbrella broke and a new one had to be purchased and it was cold! Those buses come into their own on days like this!! Vienna is a large city and quite spread out. Being on the Danube - a dirty brown not blue! - we came across we'll over a dozen River Cruise ships all tied up together - don't look so good in the rain!

and cannabis but not milk! No supermarkets or On returning to my accommodation I was told that I had a new room and they were very apologetic about the night before!
